We will only collect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and this Privacy Policy. As an existing or prospective client of BeaconPoint or as a website user, you are consenting to this Privacy Policy.

Collecting information from you
Beacon Point Private Wealth Limited (BeaconPoint) provides a Non-Discretionary Investment Management Service under a License approved by the Financial Market Authority and in order to offer you that service we collect personal information from you, including:
- Contact information: your name, phone number, email address, postal address, physical address
- Subscriptions/preferences: when you subscribe/agree to receive our newsletters or updates as well as content preference to help us identify which material you want to receive.
We gather information in a number of ways but most of this personal information is collected directly from you or through your BeaconPoint Private Wealth Adviser. We may be unable to assist you if you choose not to provide the personal information requested.
What do we do with it?
We collect and use your personal information to provide the services that you request from us, and to provide you with information about other services we consider appropriate. When necessary, we may use your information to:
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
- Meet any requirements from our Administration Service Providers – NZX Wealth Technologies & Ignite/ Adminis.
- Provide services and products to you and to improve the services and products that we provide to you.
- Market our services and products to you, including contacting you electronically for example, by text or email for this purpose.
- Respond to communications from you, including service issues.
- Protect and/or enforce any legal rights and interests, including defending any claim.
- Improve the content on our website.
Security and Disposal of your personal information
BeaconPoint use third party cloud service providers to store and process the information we collect. We use Microsoft Office 365 and cloud servers located in Australia. We ensure that our cloud-based service providers are subject to appropriate security and information handling arrangements and that the information stored or processed by them remains subject to confidentiality obligations.
BeaconPoint is required by its License, to retain personal information in relation to clients and usually hold personal information for at least 7 years although we may keep certain information for longer even if you’re no longer a client.
Disclosing your personal information
You allow BeaconPoint to provide your information to third parties that work with us to deliver financial products, services or communications to you. BeaconPoint will require those third parties to keep your information confidential and secure. They may use it only for the purpose that we give it to them for or as permitted by law and in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, and this Privacy Policy.
BeaconPoint may also disclose information to:
- the Financial Markets Authority and any other applicable regulatory or government agencies or independent compliance personnel as part of our obligations to meet regulatory and industry standards;
- any person or organisation assisting us to investigate any concerns or complaints or manage any legal action; and
- any other person or organisation as allowed by applicable law, including the Privacy Act 2020.
Accessing and correcting your personal information
The Privacy Act 2020 gives you certain rights to access and correct your personal information. BeaconPoint will try to ensure that the personal information collected about you is up to date. Please help us by telling us as soon as possible if your information, such as your contact details, change by contacting your BeaconPoint adviser.
Breach of Privacy
If we believe that there has been a privacy breach, we will identify the issue and take steps to minimise harm to you.
If we believe the breach has caused, or is likely to cause serious harm, we will contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. We will also contact clients who may be affected by the breach.

Our website may contain links to enable you to easily visit other websites. Clicking these links may mean that you give information to us or to third parties through cookies or in other ways. Beacon Point private Wealth Limited is not responsible for content on other websites.
